Spreading Easter Cheer: Food Parcels Bring Relief and Smiles

The last week of March marked the culmination of our latest food parcel distribution program, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. These parcels weren’t just about sustenance; they were about bringing a little Easter joy to families in need.

Inside each hefty-looking package, carefully chosen to maximise shelf life, were essential groceries like tinned goods and cereals. But that wasn’t all. Recognising the upcoming half-term break, we included a delightful surprise: fresh fruits and vegetables alongside a special Easter treat – a chocolate egg for each child!

The look on the mothers’ faces as they received these parcels was truly heartwarming. They were thrilled to be able to provide their children with not just essential food, but also a little Easter indulgence. Knowing that these families were able to save money on groceries meant they could focus on creating other fun activities for their children during the holidays.

In total, we supported 14 adults and 24 children, providing each family with a food parcel valued at £29.71. It may not seem like a lot, but for these families, it makes a world of difference. We’re grateful for the opportunity to spread a little Easter cheer and ease the burden for families facing food insecurity.
