National Lottery Community Fund: A Lifeline for Shanti Aid's Service Users

In the face of the ongoing cost of living crisis, Shanti Aid has been fortunate to receive vital support from the National Lottery Community Fund. This funding has been instrumental in helping us provide essential staple items to our service users and their children during these challenging times.

The generosity of the National Lottery Community Fund has given us the opportunity to extend a helping hand exactly where it’s needed the most. With their support, we can ensure that victims of domestic abuse and their children do not have to go without basic necessities this month.

Undertaking this task was no small feat; it required meticulous planning and dedicated hard work. Week after week, we have diligently worked to ensure that our service users receive a diverse range of ingredients to prepare nourishing meals for themselves and their families.

Each week in March we carefully select the provisions for our service users. Our focus for this one, was on catering to the specific needs of the South Asian community. We provided essential store cupboard staples, a variety of pulses, flour, noodles, oil, tea, sugar, condiments, dried herbs, and an assortment of spices including turmeric, paprika, and chili flakes.

The impact of this support goes beyond just providing food; it’s about offering a lifeline to those who are most vulnerable. It’s about ensuring that families have the resources they need to stay nourished and resilient during difficult times.
